Search and explore protein domain families in your browser

Millions of proteins are still uncharacterised. DPCexplorer gives you instant access to 109,630 protein domain families: 81,384 sequence-based (DPCfam) and 28,246 structure-based (DPCstruct), automatically identified by the Density Peak Clustering (DPC) algorithm, without manual curation. Search Guide: select a source above, type a valid identifier, then press Search.

Examples (Source, Identifier):
(DPCfam, MC100) | (DPCstruct, MC7) | (Pfam, PF03243 or CL0263) | (UniProt, P05067)

Metacluster IDs are case-sensitive (MC1 works, mc1 does not). Pfam accepts both family (PFxxxxx) and clan (CLxxxx) identifiers.

🆕 47,002 metaclusters (33,179 in DPCfam and 13,823 in DPCstruct) are currently labeled UNKNOWN, meaning they carry no known Pfam annotation. If you have a biological hypothesis about one of them, we want to hear from you. Find out how to contribute →
